I’m looking through the Nauvoo Relief Society minutes trying to find a specific person for my thesis but getting way too distracted by the 1842 gossip. What “scandalous tales” were being told about Sister Brown to Sarah Cleveland?! (It was probably polygamy.)

More fun thesis research finds: Father charges his son $35 in his will for getting married at 20. Year 1841. I should note this man was Mormon and if Mormons today charged their kids for getting married before 21, a LOT of people would have to pay up 😂
