Went to visit a new local bookstore today wearing this t-shirt from @boredwalk.com (my favorite). The owner, “I love your t-shirt.” Me, “Thanks. I always like to be coded a certain way when I go out, if you know what I mean.” Owner *nods*, “Oh yes. I absolutely do.” That’s right. We had a moment.

I am seeing a lot about the conglomerate Taylor Farms in the news this morning, now that the cyclosporiasis outbreak has been traced to the lettuce that they sold to Taco Bell and other retailers. I’m seeing them linked to MAGA donation, but no one connecting them to far right Christian nationalism.

Made the mistake of asking the mom group for my teen’s college about school supplies and devices and it devolved into a lecture about taking notes by hand vs “letting” them use laptops in class. I’m sorry, but my kid is an adult. This isn’t about “letting” anymore. Don’t be these people. Please.

What are we all doing tonight instead of watching the train wreck? I’m going to take a bubble bath and read my next ARC, and then watch Chocolat with my family while eating clam chowder in bread bowls. We’ll probably end the night watching a little Jeopardy and reading in bed. It’s called self-care.

Frantically trying to get my house clean so that I can languish the rest of the week during our 100 degree heat dome. I’ve cleaned the entire basement, the kitchen, put dinner in the crockpot, and broke down all the boxes from this week’s deliveries and now I’m collapsed and wilted on the couch. 🥵

I really feel as if this whole afraid of produce thing is just not going to work for me since I’m literally malnourished from perimenopause nausea and fruit is about all I eat that reliably won’t make me sick. So, if y’all could maybe bring the adults back to regulate our food, that would be great.

So, when you look at the current options for men willing to run for office, you begin to understand why 1 in 4 women have been raped. The number is higher when you take into account other acts of abuse and assault. Every woman has her stories. Do better, men. Do better. Better yet, elect women.

Super proud that I managed to be a member of the LDS church for 44 years and somehow avoided ever seeing Saturday’s Warrior. I’ve seen clips, though, and that was enough.
