For those who have just left twitter/X and are afraid for their financial security as they try to rebuild, I want to share my experience as it will hopefully provide a bit of comfort. Earlier this year I ran a Kickstarter. Bsky outperformed Twitter for backers by more than 3x.

Many peers have said to me "Wow, great work cara, but if you want ME to do the coding for you next time just ask." The assumption that women and girls don't want to or can't learn programming is almost as deplorable as pushing them to use generative AI instead.

Huh! I definitely saw that coming! Wild that we are relegated to forever “pilot programs” that show incredible success and are never replicated on larger scales by our government.

I think it's better to admit it. I'm not in a great place mentally. Like - don't get me wrong, I'm not in a *bad* place, more - neck-deep in a pool where I can still touch the bottom on my tip-toes. Occasionally my head dips under but I'm usually able to push myself back up.

Not gonna lie - if a game is worth it, I'm more than happy paying for it again. Like - I just found out I've lost my Guild Wars account. Does it suck? Sure - I had some fancy stuff - but it's worth buying again and whilst I could wait a week and a smidge to get it discounted by like £5 -

The amount of people I know who have been laid off from games industry jobs and are deciding to leave games entirely as a result is not only extremely saddening (of course), but also genuinely scary. We have lost legitimately thousands of years of knowledge and experience in the last four years.

One thing I don't get - So Steam accounts are non-transferrable (ToS/ToU?), my account is 19 years old (created in 2006) - Why do I need to confirm my age if, going by the rules they put in place, I'm old enough. Like - I'm old enough anyway just the credit card thing really *really* sucks.
