Some media have reported that Dr Randa Abdel-Fattah has dropped her defamation claim against SA premier Peter Malinauskas. That is incorrect. She has resolved her separate defamation claim against Adelaide Festival Corporation.

It’s absolutely obvious too that once again it’s not a drag queen, a trans person or an immigrant. Almost like there’s a privileged group in society that can do hideous stuff and mostly get away with it. Funny that….. 🤔

I may be entirely mistaken but it seems likely a lot of people are being wrongly led to believe a person is linked to terrorism, or has approved of terrorism, or was intending to use 'hateful rhetoric', and a competent defamation lawyer might like to take this one for a light gallop.

I am a lawyer (barrister) and I can only recommend that Ms Abdel-Fattah receive comprehensive legal advice on her options as a matter of urgency.
