The question "Why does this say male/female?" means that any trans person now has to explain their entire mental health and medical history to domestic or foreign government officials. This is de facto differential treatment that no other citizen has to face.

This can be as little as presenting a second form of identification, or as harsh as a damn strip search. This policy is not sustainable. Identification is supposed to identify the person as they are now, making their record of sex at birth irrelevant.
