Went into the bookshop today and only bought one book: The book I went in planning to buy (only counts as half because I PLANNED IT), a second hand book (counts as half because SECOND HAND) and a book I’ve already borrowed from the library and but I want my own copy (DOESN’T COUNT) #booksky

To be fair I, an economist, had to explain this to my dad, who worked in a bank for most of his career and *also* has an economics degree. It’s not intuitive.

My brain has space for precisely one word which means “small cute being I adore.” Until recently, this word was “puppy.” I have a baby niece now, and I suspect her parents might get offended if I start affectionately referring to her as a dog. So now my dog gets called “bubba!”
