LIO have caused harm to vulnerable NHS patients. LIO published questionable research and got their ethics approval pulled. LIO built their evidence base on patients, including children, who could not give/withdraw informed consent LIO are venture capital vultures.

Survivors have been calling this surveillance out since the MINUTE oxevision got its claws into the nhs. They insist it’s not a replacement for in person care but it is sold as a money saver - and the only way it saves money is if it replaces in person care.

Evergreen reminder: Oxevision doesn’t alert to a deterioration in vital signs. It requires staff to manually do a spot check. Exactly as if they were checking on a patient in person. Simply digitising the process does not create ‘safety’

It wasn't until I stopped to think through what a wall mounted medical grade sensor could do, and read up on oxevision, that it became clear that reliable, consistent vital signs can't be obtained from a corner of a room while a clothed patient is under covers/moves. It's a tech fantasy.

It is important to remember that Oxevision DOES NOT sound an alert to a deterioration in vital signs. Staff can perform a manual spot check of pulse and breathing rate through the camera, which is reliable if the patient is still.

It’s important to add that it comes as news to us that @rcpsych.bsky.social and Rethink are calling for Oxevision to be paused. We welcome and agree with this call but are surprised given neither institution has used their platforms to say this over the past 18+ months of our campaign

It's time for the people in power to take accountability and take action after 10 years of filming patients in bedrooms
