Ahhhh yes the government is not a medical specialist. I agree they have no right to weigh in on who or how many have medical issues. Their only roll is to keep costs low for anyone who needs some extra support or medication for any and every medical reason.

As someone not formally diagnosed until I was 35, let me state that my diagnosis didn't cause my Autism but it did give me access to support services for the first time and gave me words to describe how I was unable to handle living in an environment optimized for neurotypical people

I have a family member that has been diagnosed with autism, but was told that he doesn't have autism to a high enough degree to obtain support services. WHAT??? If someone put a fit bit on him, the circles he travels in a day would measure 20 miles per day. The system sucks.

I want to take the point a step further: Government is actively losing disabled people jobs. People who are already working, and have always worked, lose their jobs when their Access to Work is reduced or delayed. That's not an organisation that's going to help out of work disabled people at all.
