#hottake: Kids are anxious around math not because the problems are too hard, but because the feedback mechanism is too rigid. If they only get rewarded for correct final answers under time pressure, they'd naturally only want to do questions they can answer correctly and quickly. #MathSky

Discovering I was trans was the greatest blessing of my life. A simple explanation for a sense of wrongness I'd felt so long I thought that wrongness was me. I credit the trans community for bringing society to the point where I could understand what was wrong and get help.

Every photo from Minneapolis looks like this. Cops decked out with guns and full tac gear facing off against people in bathrobes, parkas, and sweatpants armed only with whistles and cell phones. Yet every verified MAGA chode on X dutifully calls it a riot or violent insurrection.

I don’t really know what I expect in posting this, but maybe some people see it and can learn from it. I’ll call it “lessons from an unwilling immigration attorney.” 1/
