It's come up a few times recently. You have every right to stop watching a movie at any point in the process. But, if you do, you do not get to think you have a valid opinion of the movie. Criticism requires you to actually see the art, not just the first ten minutes. Suffer the art or keep silent.

I'm not a subs purist when it comes to anime, but it is so disappointing that this version of Vampire Hunter D only has an English Language track and no Japanese track. Any movie on DVD should ar least have the original language on the disk. But this disk is almost 20 years old...not as bad as....

With the exception of hiring Leto, and, admittedly, that does make the villain easier to hate, the new Masters of the Universe movie seems to be doing everything right. They hired Brian May to work his magic on the soundtrack, which will give it Flash Gordon vibes, which is entirely the right tone.

The past year has been rough, so most of the music I listened to has been older classics I know well and have found joy and comfort in for a long time. Not a whole lot of newer albums have dug deep enough grooves into my brain and heart to make that cut. This is one of the newest albums that did.

I need to figure out how to make this app go in "The world is an awful place, stay informed" mode and "the world is a wonderful place, have some art and positive human connection" mode.

Lots of places now are now clearancing out their DVDs for cheap. I was thinking of @alphachromeyayo.com when I found a trilogy of Christmas movies starring Columbo's Peter Falk as an angel. I love finding weird things I didn't know existed.
