One of my files corrupted and i was having a meltdown about it - Sephie forced her way onto my lap and curled up on me and purred loud 😭

#284 was My Sister the Werebeast Get this book for the spooky obsessed kid in your life, or heck, get it for yourself because it's guaranteed to immediately cheer you up. I loved the characters, the backgrounds (@whatsupbeanie.bsky.social threw in a maze FOR FUN??), the booby traps, EVERYTHING.

In Stardew news, I finally figured out how to grow giant crops

Aaaaa sometimes I’m so inspired to make things BUT tired and the timing is so frustrating hhh. I want to animate something cool but all I have the energy for in this moment is lying down on the couch after a long day. This is what happens after watching other peoples cool animations I guess.

I talked with a writer once about how comics need to let the art "breathe" so we get to really feel a moment with the characters. And they told me that if there isn't any text on the page, they feel like nothing is happening and skim past it. If you're like that, you shouldn't be writing for comics

I REALLY love telling stories and drawing and it fills my heart with so much joy when my work resonates with people - what I STRUGGLE with is having to talk about my work and promoting it. It feels weird and despite being relatively open about my life with my comics I DONT LIKE BEING PERCEIVED LOL.

Some hand sheets I made for the animation team! I looked at how Dana drew hands a lot and coupled it with my own anatomical knowledge of hands. #KnightsOfGuinevere

Seeing the Bill Watterson originals full of pencil lines of stuff that didn’t work, scuffs the eraser didn’t pick up, white out galore and more was something I needed to see to remind myself that nothing is perfect the first go and tweaks need to be made and you’re allowed to try again.

Sephie’s new favourite thing is lying down directly in the path of our computer chair wheels, as close to them as humanly possible - bonus points if squishing into them. Zero survivor skills here. She has successfully trained us not to move the chairs at all while sitting on them 🫣
