I talked with a writer once about how comics need to let the art "breathe" so we get to really feel a moment with the characters. And they told me that if there isn't any text on the page, they feel like nothing is happening and skim past it. If you're like that, you shouldn't be writing for comics

More advice: Remember that dialogue takes up physical space in comics. If you want characters to rant, spread that out across panels. But generally avoid it. Hold off using caption boxes when starting out. Prose writers often use them to disengage with visuals and over rely on narration.

Sharks don't eat other fishes in the aquarium they share a space with cuz they don't need to if they're well fed and can sense that other fishes are healthy. Much like how people are more likely to die from lightning than sharks, the fish would be in more danger if I was in the tank with them.
