The reason the Virginia Supreme Court threw out the will of the voters because to bring a Constitutional Amendment, it must go through two sessions. One, before the election, one after. Virginia did that. The court decided to invent a NEW RULE saying the first session wasn't early ENOUGH. Insane.

The ruling is truly insane. Arguing "well technically you didn't explicitly say the special session was for this even though you followed every other procedure and the people of Virginia clearly voted for it." Meanwhile Tennessee just decided in a closed session black people aren't allowed to vote.

This is a return to Plessy v Ferguson but specifically for voting. Black people in TN are essentially given access to their own special voting, like the infamous "blacks only" water fountains. Their voting can affect city council races perhaps, but will never count toward anything federal.

We need to stop calling it redistricting honestly. This is the Alabama legislature removing the right of black people to vote. They can still vote, for mayor or city councils I guess. But federally, their vote is basically "separate but equal"
