Mojtaba Khamenei was not seen publicly after airstrikes targeting the supreme leader's offices killed his father at the start of the war. His wife, Zahra Haddad Adel, who came from a family long associated with the country's theocracy, was also killed in the strike.

Iran’s new Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei is 56, which means he was 10 in the 1979 revolution. That makes him the first leader of Iran without memories of life under the Shah or the revolution itself (beyond kid recollection, at least). Like John Quincy Adams, the first post-revolutionary leader.

That's an interesting take considering the martyrdom happened while Iran was literally sitting at the negotiation table with bad actors who attacked during their bad faith negotiations. Israel and US, making martyrs and dead kids every day last week.
