At our block's vigil last night we upheld them. I know others did/do. We had artists who made name plates for everyone killed by ICE this year to put at Renee's memorial. Their names aren't unsaid, but they're certainly not echoing as loud. & all of us will be better served to uplift them.

One thing that irks me: people keep calling the folks on the streets in Minneapolis protestors. They are not generally there to protest, they are there to observe and document. This is the product of organizing and mutual aid. It is telling that these acts of citizenship are seen as protest!

We evacuated our kids out of Minneapolis this weekend and my spouse reports that as she drove them out of town she saw "multiple freeway exits where people are being pulled over." It feels like the Twin Cities is being subjugated by a hostile occupying force.

For folks not in Minneapolis: it’s been raining, freezing, melting, freezing, and ice is everywhere literally and literally.

Minnesotans should pour water on all their sidewalks and put up signs that read "CAUTION ICE IN AREA" just on the other side so they'll try to come and take them down.
