There was a mass shooting yesterday by an individual who appears to have fallen deep down a far-right internet conspiracy rabbit hole. The shooter's apparent connections to right-wing extremism is being completely glossed over in almost all major news coverage. This silence is dangerous.

BTW. Identities and motives of shooters don't matter. They serve two purposes. 1. To distract from action on gun violence. 2. To spread the shooter's messages, increase notoriety, and encourage copycat shooters. Do not fall into the identity conversation trap. This is about guns, nothing else.

We have an exchange teacher living with us from abroad. After seeing the gun sales shop on Dale & the 94 on-ramp, she was shocked you could just buy a gun. I then explained school shootings to her and first-shooter drills. Like 3 days ago! And today is the first day of students retuning to school.

Thinking of all the educators in Minnesota right now. They just worked WEEKS to set up and decorate their classrooms to welcome students back. And now they need to be excited and celebratory for their students while carrying heavy hearts because a sister school was brutally attacked with gunfire.

We are the only country on earth where children regularly get shot in school and people are shot in their place of worship. It *doesn’t* have to be this way. Gun violence in America is a policy choice and I’m ready to make a different one. Let’s end gun violence.

Two days in a row we’ve had mass shootings involving people using weapons of war to inflict violence and pain on our community. It doesn’t have to be with this way. We don’t have to live in a society that allows people to own weapons like this.

I dropped my kids off for their first day of school, at the same time there was a mass shooting at another school across town. 💔😔 This is so, so devastating. And it doesn’t have to be like this. Why do we permit people to have assault rifles? This is abhorrent.

Imagine your church encourages you to steal in the name of god. 🫠 You go to church for community and faith, not to serve their agenda and do their bidding.
