I am out of South Portland, which is where Portland’s ICE facility is—it’s not downtown!

After the combined police line of PPB and what turned out to be Oregon State Police MRT withdrew, the crowd pulled the ICE facility gates open again. Then someone used a cone to wedge the gate open. Strong you seen my cones energy.

At the Portland ICE facility, bike police were already on the scene observing. A van of police in Special Emergency Reaction Team (SERT) gear joined up with them and they pushed the crowd of protestors east from Macadam. Now they’re keeping the crowd out of the driveway with a police line

The Portland ICE facility doors are sitting slightly ajar after a few rounds of those furthest up the driveway pushing and pulling on them. A line of agents came out and stood on front of the gates. And then went back in.

Typo earlier that I deleted. I estimated crowd size at around 300. Said that ICE agents exited the facility twice and arrested at least one person. That post was initially at approximately 6 pm.

A little absurdity at tonight’s Portland ICE protest. A band showed up, and a large percentage of the activists who had been standing by the front of the facility peeled off and became the crowd.

The Portland ICE facility is approximately two miles from the No Kings protests happening in the city’s downtown, at Waterfront Park. Right now there’s just a slight line standing in front of the facility singing: “its okay to change your mind courage… together we will abolish ICE”
