The decision to slash indirect research funding is an existential threat to universities nationwide. Leadership from all U.S. universities must act immediately to push back, advocate for sustainable funding, and protect the future of research. Silence is not an option.

This is dangerously irresponsible on every level. Indiscriminately slashing this funding will cripple lifesaving research on everything from cancer to opioid addiction.
