Forgot how thoroughly addictive and consuming the editing process can be (for me anyway). Hacking off those extraneous words, combining anf tightening sentences, finding better ways of saying things. Long way to go, but struggling to put it down #WriteSky

I've loved the Northern Weird collection by @wildhuntbooks.bsky.social so much, but I think Good Boy has to be my surprise favourite (so far anyway, one to go!). Expertly melding the atmospheric and unsettling with so much heart. I adored it.

So here's what I wish for us: * we give books as holiday gifts * we get them from our local indie bookstores * we spend time reading with the people and pets we love * when we feel the call, we write * we get enough sun, nutrients, movement, and sleep * we bloom again in springtime & kick ass. 11/11

And I'm going to tell you something else. When you read a book, there were days that the writer hated everything they wrote, days they cried over the page, days they ate an entire bowl of candy corn just to fuel the useless words. But the reader can't tell, because you can always fix it later. 9/

Just devoured Bitter Sweet by Hattie Williams. Couldn't put it down. The writing was do beautiful and so much of the story was relatable as someone who lived in London in her 20s, trying to carve out a career in publishing and forming or longing for attachments to the worst kind of men.
