Good morning, everyone, including and especially that honey bee I scooped up off the sidewalk and plopped into a bunch of flowers! (She started sipping on nectar immediately, so fingers crossed, she's fine. :') )

#LGTBTQWriteAThon Yes! I'd written THREE chapters of TNS, planned Gunslingers, chugged along on betaing, and made friends along the way. Thanks to everyone for dropping by/cheering me on! This event is always so much fun, and it was a delight to meet so many of you. :D

Addendum: By "extreme," I mean "most bees can do up to 113 degrees F." Additionally, honey bees can cool themselves off by drinking water and either spraying that onto their hive or flapping their wings and having it evaporate from their bodies. Thus, as long as they have water, they're fine.

#LGBTQWriteAThon I've made a goal to write 50k/as much of draft 1 of Gunslingers as possible in July, so starting July 1, you can watch me flail around with words, bees, and sapphic cowgirls. Other than that, pretty much just continuing to beta and surviving apparently 101F heat.

Fun bee fact for you that is comforting me right now: Bees can survive extreme heat. Not necessarily *extreme* extreme, but their normal is a constant 95-degree-F-hive. Varroa, the parasitic mite that plagues bees, however, cannot. I am going to keep telling myself that instead of worrying.

#LGBTQWriteAThon I'm writing a high fantasy *very* centered around its magic system for plot reasons, so there are *many* instances of the word "magic." But I think my favorite is the one that discusses why the main character, ironically, has so much trouble using it. (Notes in replies, btw!)

There were so many good moments in this week's writing, it was hard to choose just one. My biggest highlight was just how much fun I had with this week's edits/rewrites. I'm really loving the section of BYMMS I'm in and I'm so eager to work on it everyday. I missed that feeling. #FaveLineFriday

YAY! It's #FaveLineFriday! And I have WORDS this week! 😃 My biggest highlight was getting swept up in a wave of another writer's momentum and getting these words out after a drought of a fortnight. 😌

This is genuinely one of my favorite interactions between Alyx and Callon like. Their banter. Callon’s undiagnosed ADHD. Alyx painting Callon’s nails for him. I love it so much, this scene is like a Golden Corral buffet for me personally. More of a snippet than a line but!! Aaaa! #FaveLineFriday

#FaveLineFriday I liked this little description from ApocalypseWIP of the Supreme Mage binding all the mages in the city to secrecy once he tells them about the impending apocalypse. I think I just like describing magic in this book!

Went out to enjoy some coffee and fresh air, and managed to finish the outline for Gunslingers. :') It *feels* a lot tighter than what I usually do, and all in all, I'm so ready for July 1. Downside is a buddy wants a writing session tomorrow, and I have no idea what I'll be doing for it. :V

What's happening in the garden? 🌱 Not too much new to report in blooms, although we have a few things on the verge of blooming. The drought has made it challenging to start new things this year. The pollinators are currently enjoying daikon radish, St Johns wort, ironweed, and bee balm.
