Excellent point, but there are millions of "non-poor" people who could make economic sacrifices, from boycotting Apple to rationing fuel to stopping paying for sporting events. Think of the optics of a half-empty baseball stadium during the playoffs.

It's not necessarily a full stop but we can take a couple days to cost them an incredible amount of money.

This should be one of the biggest blows we can strike this early into this authoritarian regime's reign. If we take away his financial support now, it will crumble, and then we just have to sweep it up and begin rebuilding. So yes, we need people to leave their jobs now, not later.
