a very low-expectation minor goal for 2026 is to participate in some more DTIYS next year I usually end up intimidated. but if I can let myself not expect it to be The Best Piece I've Ever Made & not compare too much to other folks, I think it would be fun practice getting outside my comfort zone

Fan art of your characters is sort of the greatest motivator in the world, ngl. If you wanna draw a character, you definitely should (and tag the author when you do!)

Kill the artist in your mind that gets so anxious about “ not having a consistent style.” I try to draw so many wildly different subjects in as many different ways as I can, and I think being able to grasp at variety is only a benefit to your craft, especially going forward.

no it's fine, i love it when i get lots of interaction on a reply i made to somebody else's post about ai garbage, and almost none on anything i make or my own thoughts that i post. it's neat 😐

okay well by going through and categorizing things, I: 1) reconsidered what I thought of as "finished", and 2) really proved myself wrong on this lol lots of previously ignored sketch pages that now feel "finished" to me because they had involved editing/arranging/extra effort to look nice

started working on an art wrapup - didn't have a ton of "finished art" this year, but i've got exactly 100 images saved in my wrapup folder that i shared either on social media or with a friends group. most was sketch pages and doodles, but that still feels incredible to see the consistency !

Just know this is me whenever I comment on art 😭 (sorry)
