Co-regulation is not about doing something to a pupil. At its root, it's about positive relationships & how one nervous system responds to another.Pupils who did not receive co-regulation develop self-regulation skills to react or suppress uncomfortable feelings & emotions.🧠🌱

In educational settings, our emotional needs are met through regulation and relationships. When these emotional needs are met,our bodies feel safe. When these needs are ignored, our bodies adapt Educators need to know this. 🧠🌱

If a brain is stressed, worried, or afraid, it can't learn.We need to help more children to be successful. 🧠🌱

If you want to teach a young person who has trauma related dysregulation,you have to regulate them before you teach them. Your intention is to reach the cortex,but first, you have to deal with the trauma altered systems that originate in the lower parts of the brain.🧠🌱

Importance of Operation Encompass recognised again in Norfolk JTAI focussing on children 0-7 experiencing DA. Norfolk say they will roll out Operation Encompass for EYs in 2025, this is imperative for every force, because it is imperative for every child. We will support Norfolk police doing this

We need it in Ireland. It’s almost 5 years since this early intervention prog was brought to the attention of the State. It is supported by Dept of Education, INTO teacher union, Ombudsman for Children etc but still the delay. The impact on child victims is enormous. Delay is embedding this ACE.
