besties who DM TRRPGs, what do you do about players who seem to be averse to working together? that no matter what, the party just seems to NOT COMMUNICATE OR WORK TOGETHER despite every effort? Not in an antagonistic way, but they just don’t seem to think outside of their own stuff? #ttrpg

In the event we somehow manage to dig ourselves out of this, I truly hope that we, collectively, never forget that change and resistance was led by people either willfully leaving the safety of their lives/desks/offices, or were never afforded a life with opportunity for to be an 'elsewhere' at all.

tried to type out this post a few times so I’m settling on this: i’m having a hard time again. i graduated from my masters program this past week and nothing has gotten easier. the things that are supposed to bring me joy have gotten complicated and frustrating. one deep breath at a time.

can someone PLEASE tell me how to convince my grandparents that my university isn’t capable of just INVENTING a PhD program in my field because they “like me so much and want to keep me”

Do I constantly feel like I’m missing out on things bc of my intentional stepping back from social media and focusing on my own writing instead of writing FOR publication? Yes. Yes I do. But have I also written more in the past month than I had the 6 months that came before that? Also yes! So.

has anyone ever considered ditching their MA program with three weeks left to go because the lady you submit the thesis to who gives you formatting notes essentially told you that no matter how many times you try, your project will never look right to her but she refuses to say WHY? just curious.

Gonna take this opportunity to say that I can personally deliver no script for as little as 7 million, and I know some other writers who can do it for as little as five million.

spent yesterday writing 5k words of lowkey fanfic about some of my Vampire the Masquerade NPCs, and then today created over 2k words worth of fake blog posts for that same #VtM game. And designed the website for it, too. they aren’t USEFUL projects, but they make me happy, and I’m WRITING.

as a certified fool you would think id enjoy april fools day but every year i find myself just bracing until it is over. i am such a sincere person that a day of insincerity grinds me down. maybe its autistic thing. fact that some buds might think THIS is a joke hurts my brain and clenches my teeth

great news/update from no-socials land: - woke up today and didn’t scroll immediately, proceeded to clean my whole porch and grocery shop and to a LOT of much-needed tidying and maintained a good mood the whole time also organized some of my books for what might be my other next project? idk yet

the cost of spending the weekend focusing on your own work and feeling creatively fulfilled in that way is being horrifically behind in every other aspect of your life and work and feeling guilty for it.
