This flag and pledge come from a couple of decades ago when the U.S. was starting other wars in the Middle East. May we join the God "who crushes war" (Exod 15:3 LXX), who "breaks the bow and shatters the spear" (Ps 46:9) by overcoming evil not with more evil and violence, but with good (Rom 12:21).

Training is absolutely not the problem with ICE & with the DHS. Not at all. They’re hired & trained to do this. They want to do this. And the orders to do this come from the very top of the government & are approved by the president himself. Training doesn’t change that.

The free speech activist who built a list of professors he worked to get fired for their speech must be celebrated for his support of free speech, and anyone who quotes his speech accurately in context will be fired and/or face state punishment by the champions of free speech, do I have that right?

Being tough on crime actually means making sure people have enough food, healthcare, transportation access, spaces to gather in community, belonging, etc. When those things happen, crime goes down. But that isn’t flashy or retributive enough to get headlines and votes.
