Needs a big screen to view. Tested a light pollution filter on my camera and managed to catch a Geminid meteor near the Pleiades yesterday evening (4 secs exposure). Seems to work!

157 years ago, on the 9th of December 1868, the world's first traffic lights were installed outside the Palace of Westminster in London. It used semaphore arms during the day and green/red gas lamps at night. It had to be operated by a constable. It exploded on January 2nd 1869.

Easy of access, the shapely standing stones at Penrhosfeilu (almost) frame the peak of Mynydd Twr if you look NNW. We stopped by after completing the coast path of the W side of Anglesey last month (recommended!).

The Longstone. Mottistone Down. The stones are all that remain of a long barrow. The Long Stone is thought to have been used as a meeting place during the Saxon period and Mottistone – is a corruption of 'moot stone'.
