It's hard to express what it meant to watch Maurice, Natalia, Celeste, and Rhea tell their stories—in their own voices—this morning. The segment revealed a brutal reality: homelessness at this scale isn't about personal failure. It's the result of policy choices and systems built to exploit people.

Francesco Rosi's first film. Well made, true story of thuggish Vito taking over fruit stand biz in Naples. Still, didn't love it cuz Vito is unappealing. This Letterboxd review gives great background on Rosi and film:

Watched TRE FRATELLI (1981) aka Three Brothers. A new-to-me Francesco Rosi

film. Three brothers return home when their mother dies. The political-personal mix doesn't totally work but the film is so moving and respectful of an old man's grief. An 89 year-old Charles Vanel broke my heart.

Hey,

, it wasn't just Barack Obama who professed to govern all Americans and not only those of his party. It's Trump that's the anomaly.
