Movie watcher, novice crocheter. Don't high hat me!
I still can’t get over the fact that TCM randomly dropped THE FOUR DAYS OF NAPLES (1962) into its schedule this month.

You know a film is going to be hard to find when the only reviews on Letterboxd are all in Hungarian.

It's a pleasure and an honor to take part in this new BBC radio documentary about the great critic and curator Iris Barry (who, of course, founded the MOMA Film Library and made sure that its treasures were projected to museumgoers):

There's only one shot in all of this I don't like and it's an iconic shot, but it just seems out of place to me.

Hey, it’s good! There are post-Code Hollywood liberties, of course—the first scene reveals Nick married a reformed Jordan. But Alan Ladd is terrific as Gatsby—in fact, he may be the best screen Gatsby ever. Shelley Winters was born to play Myrtle and the 20s feel lived in.

Definitely--but also, w/ this stunt, he used the technique of undercranking, where the film is shot at a slower speed than it's projected at. Ben Model explains this in his YouTube analyses of Keaton stunts:
