We should not be arresting our unhoused neighbors. What we're witnessing on our streets is cruel, counterproductive, and unacceptable. Federal agents should not be patrolling our streets, terrifying our residents, and taking people away. The federal surge needs to end.

Mayor Bowser, "shared priorities" with this administration means having masked agents disappear our neighbors in the middle of the night. It means soldiers with assault rifles in our neighborhoods. It means arresting children. These are the priorities of a dictator. DC does not share them.

"Sports economists widely agree that NFL stadiums “do not generate significant local economic growth” and that they are “typically just gigantic giveaways to billionaire owners at the expense of taxpayers.”

The Commanders stadium itself, it's becoming clear, is only an amuse-bouche for the far bigger subsidy Josh Harris is set to receive via rent-free use of city-controlled property for private commercial development.

Immigrants are and have been a pillar of DC’s diverse and strong community. They are essential workers, caregivers, and entrepreneurs, and they are woven into the story of DC and our country. These federal actions to stoke fear & confusion at restaurants are cruel to the workers and hurt local biz.

Tax Justice for All! Last week, we gathered with friends and partners to demand a tax code that treats all of us fairly and doesn't prioritize cuts for billionaires over the services and support that our city needs.

For the first time since 2019 babies will be able to be born in a labor and delivery unit east of North Capitol St. There will be speciality services like cardiology, nephrology, & gastrointestinal services — making them more accessible to so many residents. A very good day indeed.

Without action on the ‘District of Columbia Local Funds Act of 2025,’ the continuing resolution passed by Congress would force the District to deal with one billion dollars in budget cuts that are completely avoidable. The District’s balanced budget is already paid for, mostly by local tax-dollars.
