"Vote Reform, get Starmer Out" That is a campaign slogan for a general election. I don't deny it's a real sentiment among Reform voters and that Starmer is unprecedentedly unpopular. But a real party would have campaigned on improving people's lives at council and ward level.

Nationally, I'm just glad that Reform won't lead in Scotland and Wales. What I'm not sure about is whether Labour should hold their noses and stick with Starmer. I'm gathering that at least a few Labour MP's are making noises about the PM setting a public timetable to step aside.

Who in their right mind in the NE is looking at the way Reform are mis-running Durham and thinking “Yeah, that’s what we need”?
