Ben Keating has been consistent on his preference of LMGTE over LMGT3 in WEC and at Le Mans. Why? 3 things: 1) ABS took his differentiator away 2) The GT3 tyres are not as good as the GTE tyres 3) GTE setups could be adjusted on the fly, per driver #LM24 #LeMans

Ferrari qualified 13th, 11th and 7th last year, so struggling with qualifying isn't surprising. Looking at the speed trap figures from last year, the first time that they showed off their speed advantage at all was FP2, so the first hints will come whenever Alkamel gets the speed trap numbers up.

Have the ACO nerfed Ferrari too hard or are they sandbagging? One car out of qualifying and the other two struggling. I can't imagine they'll be at the back the whole race.

FWIW I will also not be following Le Mans as I'm out Saturday & half of Sunday. Feeling strangely disconnected from it this year.

I have caught up with the Monaco GP. Masterclass of a display from Antonelli, lapped all but 2nd & 3rd at one stage, incredible he was so calm as well. Felt like a really old-style GP, to have someone so dominant.

Monaco is one of those where I enjoy watching every F1 session. Understanding the story of the weekend can offset a tedious race. And watching them find the limits in new cars. But I've been busy and have only seen FP1.

I'm generally fine with BoP in GT3 racing. I think it is necessary to ensure adequate competition. BoP for Hypercar/GTP... I think alternatives should be investigated, and I know they are being discussed. More on this tomorrow in the first ever issue of @ontheapex.com.
