So many people in the government and the media want you to think that if you object to this you are alone, but you aren't alone.

Transphobia is a cancer of the heart and mind. It is a useless fear, based on ignorance and cruelty. Trans people are not responsible for a single one of the problems we face. Do the world a favor and grow the fuck up.

A large percentage of us learned about the Tulsa Massacre in recent memory because of an HBO show, so I all think that we can stand to learn more history. But history is also full of people like you and me, who saw a broken world and fought to fix it. Learn about them too

But when I asked an organizer what they wanted to see out of press coverage, they told me they wanted people to see the beautiful things they are building here, and not just the worst stories of the worst of ICE's crimes. What people are doing here is beautiful. It's a tragic beauty, but a real one

This framing is really dumb because the 08 financial crisis came after the housing bubble burst. They didn't bail out the bubble industry, they bailed out the financers. So, yes, it does make sense to talk about AI as a bubble

I needed a new headlight so I took the bulb to the woman at O'Reilly, she looked at it for 5 seconds, told me exactly where a new one was and rung me up. But what if I had to spend 5 minutes chatting with an AI about it?

Seeing the US's reaction after France refused to back the war on terror bullshit was an awakening for me. The US only has allies of convenience and a portion of our population along with our elites will turn on anyone if it furthers their goals

The only way to pretend "we are better than this" is to enforce consequences on all those involved with this act. Government officials who decided to do it, soldiers who carried it out, and media personnel who cheerlead it, all need to face consequences. From the bottom up.

People being like, "But Venezuelans are happy about Maduro being gone!" have the memories of goldfish. IN 2003, the narrative was that Iraqis celebrated the U.S. invasion and capture of Saddam. Whether they were happy or not, invading Iraq was still the wrong thing to do.

My friend's mom moved to New Mexico and gave me her very stock, workhorse PC. And I have to say, I'm so happy to have a DVD drive that isn't a crappy USB one I picked up at a Goodwill. I have too many CDs and occasionally I get audiobooks from the library

I spent last weekend at AmericaFest which was bizarre as hell. The infighting was popcorn but it does suck to see that TPUSA is not going away any time soon. They announced new affiliates, events and a new AZ-focused PAC + they are working with red state officials to force the org. in more schools.

So one of the things that led to the video game crash was low quality games flooded the market so customers lost confidence in the industry. It's why the NES was originally marketed as a toy with a robot. Anyways, prepare for barely functioning slop apps/websites

The type of guys who fetishize warfare, and frequently proclaim their masculine toughness, have a long history of losing to the seemingly “weak” people who don’t want to fight but get pushed too far. Because bluster isn’t actually strength. Scared nerds are stronger than they think. Good thread.

I finished rewatching Scrubs and it has some really weird stuff, but overall it balances a comedic and supremely dark tone. I think Season 9 would have worked better with Carla, and I don't see why they tried having Cole when Aziz Ansari played basically the same character in S8 and it sucked
