People wanna use an LLM like it's a magic bullet. They were sold the lie that it is perfect and trained on all the information in the world. They think it's artificial intelligence, not a simple predictive text generator. Double-checking is anathema to the entire point. So they don't do it.

Something about using AI art with the caption "skills that pay off" is really irritating. (Dunno if the screenshot in the quote post has alt text, so: the screenshot is a U.S. Department of Education facebook post that says "SKILLS THAT PAY OFF" and shows AI art of two plumbers mangling pipes.)

This attitude helped my cis siblings support our trans sibling with other fam. "I don't under--" They didn't ask you to understand. They asked you to use THESE pronouns & THIS name & for you to still love them. That was an actually achievable ask. (Still working on pronoun consistency tho.)
