I often think back to a Greek taxi driver who once told me: "Too many people want the harshest laws they can imagine - for everyone except themselves." This thinking is rife on the right, but it is also prevalent in a significant minority on the left. And that last part always takes me by surprise.

Incidentally, if "migrants should have fewer rights" is stage one, then "dual citizens have divided loyalties" is almost invariably stage two of every historical example of mass oppression. Usually followed by second/third-generation migrants or full citizens of a particular minority being targeted.

The Russian lie of the attack on Putin‘s residence is just one of the many reasons why there will be never a document which will secure freedom and peace. We have seen this in multiple shapes and forms as seen in the Budapest Memorandum, the Minsk agreements etc.
