It’s heartbreaking that more than one in three babies in Scotland aren’t being given an equal chance to thrive because their families are struggling to make ends meet. We are failing the very youngest members of our society. We must do better for babies.

Today's child poverty stats show that positive policy choices, including the Scottish Child Payment are making a difference, but not nearly enough is being done to give all children a decent start in life.

📊 The Scottish Government will publish its child poverty statistics tomorrow. This year's stats are especially important - they'll tell us if Scot Gov has met its interim 2025 target of 18% or fewer of children living in poverty.
