1/ I agree with this. Yes, blanket Trump tariffs are likely to drive up prices for consumers, hurt US manufacturers, invite retaliation and if applied in North America disrupt well established NAFTA/USMCA supply chains. But it may not be universally obvious, and Trump will have mitigation options.

Here are three things we should *not* do. Don't do #1: Immediately run to Washington, 'negotiate' (ie concede and capitulate), and kiss the ring. Today's listed demands don't make sense. If we concede to these, there'll be more. That path destroys your dignity *and* is ineffective. A bad pairing.
