I’ve been rereading Diana Wynne Jones’s books. Marveling at the gentle giddiness of her later books: Conrad’s Fate, The Pinhoe Egg, and (my favorite) Enchanted Glass. She wrote so many dark, unsettling, rigorously honest books in the 70s & 80s. The lightness of her later work feels well-earned.
