(game I'm running as GM) plan loosely and let your players' actions decide the direction of the story. My players unintentionally skipped the first 4 story hooks I threw them which initially threw me off but it ended up making for a good story because I rolled with it instead of forcing them back

I would say my style is instigator, schemer and explorer. Instigator: I like to give the GM and other players opportunities to roleplay or do things Schemer: I like setting up long term plans or goals and slowly achieving them Explorer: I love lore, stories and discovering things in game

My first D&D game was actually one that I ran myself. Unfortunately none of the campaigns I had been in previously ended up happening so I decided to bite the bullet and do it myself. I was so stressed and worried about doing a bad job and everyone being bored but it went well.
