In the late 1800s, an English land agent was sent to a town to foreclose on farmers. The locals refused to serve him, to deliver his mail, to sell to him in shops, to have anything at all to do with him. His name was Charles Boycott.

The Western world needs therapy. It does not know itself. Routinely "appalled" and "concerned" about the war crimes it arms, pays for, and covers up politically. It asks us to sever ourselves from reality in order to cope. On an individual level, this is unhealthy. On a societal level, it's suicidal

Surprises me unfortunately how people I have talk with about home renovations have no idea about asbestos in houses older than the 90s, how often they are advised by friends not to worry about it. Don't unleash asbestos in your home. Have your home tested and asbestos removed by professionals.

Where governments choose to tax and where to spend money shows a lot about their priorities. We should be taxing things we want less of (like fossil fuels), and subsidising things we want more of (like education). Pretty simple.
