Boy that seems like a total misread of the situation on the GOPs part. This court is in "Roger Taney" territory. the Supreme Court is seen as openly ideological and partisan in a way it wasn't even 4 years ago. They cram down some 35 yo Alito and judicial reform moves to the top of the list.

Alito’s standard for racial discrimination in the TPS ruling, that racism has to be the *sole* motivation to count as discriminatory, is so deranged that it could arguably cover neither Jim Crow nor slavery.

There is an ongoing lawsuit against this, which is effectively Trump deciding that he wants to seize a public DC golf course that is much beloved if a bit rundown at the heels like many National Parks Service properties, and turn it into a Trump golf course.

This is right. The government didn’t “settle” this case. Trump brought a frivolous case and voluntarily withdrew it, and then the Justice Department said they’d agreed to set up this insane slush fund for him. It has no legal connection to the case, and there’s no legal authorization for it at all.
