I understand the reasoning behind zeroing in on ICE & DHS abducting citizens. But when you lead with what's perceived as your most sympathetic cases, you cede the moral high ground & make arguing for others harder. It is wrong for armed, masked gestapo to grab people - doesn't matter their status.

Sad to hear of Peter Watkins death. Never met him, but did organize a screening of his loooong masterpiece La Commune back in 2002 at Filmhuis Cavia in Amsterdam, with many of the people involved in making that film in attendance. Apparently I also cooked dinner for the intermission.

Electing Zohran Mamdani today will be a huge step forward for advancing a populist socialist agenda at the municipal level, which is great—but that victory is also going to make the Trump regime look weaker, which is also great.

We need a bigger national spotlight on this building raid, fam. Agents dropped from helicopters onto the roof. Citizens and non-citizens alike were dragged from their homes in the night. People who weren't kidnapped during the raid had their belongings seized after the fact. This is madness.
