Fundrise told investors it had a fiduciary duty to complete the sale — walking away from a profitable deal would have conflicted with that obligation. That turned its retail investors into passive financiers of a federal detention facility without notice.

They do this EVERY TIME they have advance notice of a “surprise” oversight visit. The ICE Air fleet is now big enough to handle these situations without too much disruption. Your tax dollars at work, evading oversight.

GardaWorld begins hiring for ICE processing center in Surprise, Ariz.

Yesterday, ICE added $619,000 to a contract with GEO Group to extend transportation and detention services at the Delaney Hall contract detention facility in Newark, N.J. ICE has paid GEO Group $58.6 million for detention services there since March 2025.

Here's a new one: ICE detained a man in Utah who had been arrested for a suspected drug sale ... that turned out to be dried pinto beans. Utah case was dropped but the man, who arrived in US as a minor and has deferred action, was transfered to ICE. storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.us...

"Taken together, these scenarios show ICE is trying to build a fast-scaling monitoring apparatus for unaccompanied children while pushing much of the operational and ethical burden onto private contractors."

As of this afternoon, ICE has purchased 11 warehouses for conversion into detention camps. 11 sales have been canceled. ICE has spent $1.04 billion on warehouse acquisitions. It will cost the government an estimated $7.57 billion to operate all 11 warehouses per year.

Correction: We initially received corporate data indicating the Ritchie Group was part of the seller's investment structure. After breaking the story, conflicting information emerged. Unable to independently corroborate, we've retracted that detail. Verified seller is RREEF CPIF, a DWS fund.

Six restroom trailers began appearing Monday at the Williamsport, Md., ICE warehouse. Under OSHA 29 C.F.R. § 1926.51, that satisfies minimum sanitation standards for ~1,500 construction workers. The facility is planned to hold 1,500 detainees.

Haven't checked the 287(g) page in a while, but @bremg.bsky.social found that this language was quietly added — a quick check of Internet Archive shows that this popped up on/about Sunday, Feb. 15. Our assessment: ICE is looking to find workarounds to 287(g) bans.

A review of Puerto Rico business records shows that SK2 LLC — the firm ICE hired in November to broker the purchase of warehouses around the U.S. — filed to dissolve the company in February. The company had just been added to the WEXMAC TITUS contract vehicle in January.

As work moves ahead to convert the Williamsport, Md. facility into a concentration camp, the local media’s top billing is a missive on Gov. Moore’s statement that the Maryland flag is a “contradiction.” No mention of GardaWorld in local Arizona news, for that matter.

As the cost of oil increases due to the Iran War, the cost of materials to convert these warehouses into concentration camps will only increase in turn in the form of fuel surcharges and more expensive materials.

Maryland Rep. Mfume just now: "What we need is a team united against the ridiculous." This follows Senator Alsobrooks' earlier revelation that 255 people are being held in rooms designed for 50 at Baltimore's Fallon Building.

So the fact that the founder of this brand-new company which just got the first contract for the Hagerstown warehouse is someone who was apparently deep in the weeds of the Endeavors migrant contracts in 2021 (which FYI drew huge attention from Senate/House GOP) is... well, notable. And concerning.

Here's the first-ever Linkedin message from this company, which seems to be a small company run by two millennials with some background in migrant shelters. Four months ago they suggest they won a contract to run a "mass care site" in Lexington, KY, but this is their first-ever federal contract.

The federal government awarded contracts Sunday to renovate two warehouses, each designed to hold 1,500 people, into immigration detention and processing facilities in Maryland and Arizona, according to contract records. The Maryland facility is scheduled for completion by May.
