I have only just spotted this post from Robin and it has truly moved me. Get It Loud In Libraries was designed to transform young people's lives by great live music and aligned creative opportunities - so advocacy like this is hugely gratifying. Libraries matter very much, and deserve support.

It was truly incredible, and Get it Loud in Libraries was life-changing for me as a teenager. I got to see so many incredible bands in my home town because of them!

Self Esteem Glastonbury. One of the most exultant performances,worthy of the original spirit of the festival. Flavours of Kate Bush, Madonna & Laurie Anderson. But neverending originality of Rebecca Lucy Taylor. So proud to have worked with her @loudinlibraries.bsky.social more than any other.

Had a lovely 24hrs in Kirkcudbright for my Book Week event. Great turnout, v engaged audience & Alan McClure was a top host. Shout out to @gallovidiabooks.bsky.social which was going like a fair this morning. Had a nice chat with Stewart & signed some stock. Great to see an indy book shop thriving.

One thing about working in an indie bookstore is that I see how thin their margins are. Always shop locally when you can. Keep local businesses alive, and keep the money in your community.

Back in the day. Fifteen years ago. When clip art posters mocked up by the library ladies 'in the back' would be perfectly acceptable for the likes of Ellie Goulding. And nine quid was pretty steep for us at the time @loudinlibraries.bsky.social
