Misinformation can be unintentional but still damaging. Basic fact (that this article omits): professors are already required to submit syllabi to their supervisors, have those docs reviewed by admin, and are consistently evaluated by colleagues and students. 1/4

Why is this reported as some cutesy story every time it comes up, rather than the affront to the Constitution that it is? There is no context in which this is funny, quirky, or just "Trump being Trump." This is not charming patter; it's Putin territory.

Democrats need to begin with the truth: "My opponents' intent is destruction of the public good and theft and murder of the people who live here, which poisons even the few facts they get right; therefore, there's no point in finding common ground; we should seek only to oppose and defeat them."

Democrats owe it to the country to think through this stuff and be honest with themselves about whether they’re really up for the fight. If they are, they can telegraph it to voters by fighting harder between now and next November. If they’re not, they should yield to new leaders.

Again we see the incoherence of right-wing policy. Rounding up homeless people and imprisoning them *is* housing them! Punitive solutions to this problem also cost a shitload and require a massive bureaucracy. They are fine with providing housing, but only if it is ineffective and dehumanizing.

One reason Trump says & does whatever he wants is because every societal institution, including the media, has completely normalized & internalized the idea that the laws, the Constitution, & the international treaties we have signed & ratified simply don’t apply to this one guy. It’s maddening.
