In a detail which will surprise no one, the first of the "patriots" to plead guilty to offences connected to the rioting in Southampton on Tuesday night has a criminal record as long as your arm, including.... possessing a knife.

Also a lot of those car lanes were never intended only for cars - some predate cars even - but they are considered car lanes because cars dominate them.

If Labour had promised to spend £2.5 billion on public and active transport - which would disproportionately support poor and disabled people, and would be a long term investment rather than a short term sop - everyone would be demanding to know where the £2.5 billion is going to come from.

A Summer Sunday Social June 7th - find us from 2pm at the Turf or 1.30pm at Piazza Terracina for a companionable cycle down (not a 'led' ride as such). As always, bring a friend or make one there. Why not share what you think needs fixing and we can chew over ways to get change?

You may not like hearing this but actually free on-street car parking is objectively a ridiculous idea when you think about it for a second. Imagine if I plonked literally any other bulky item of personal property in front of my house and expected it to not require permission or payment!

Somehow our streets have become taken over by vehicles. We’ve allowed the needs of motor traffic to dictate the experience of everyone getting around or hanging around on our streets. 🚗 💨 🚚💨 🚦 And children have lost out more than any of us. We can do so much better. 🤸🏽 🤸♀️ 🛝🌷 🌳
