1/? In college, I had the great pleasure of meeting Stokley Carmichael (Kwame Ture). He came to speak at our school. He didn't just collect his check and go. He actually sat and spoke with us afterwards and went for coffee. One of the things he talked about most was to be wear of white radicals.

Yessss!!! Black Food History is my new jam and they’re my favorite thing to make for New Years. This is my Aunt Rebecca’s (New Orleans/Baton Rouge) recipe.

They are called "Hot tamales" they taste completely different, and have been in the Mississippi Delta since the 1920s when white people imported Mexicans to work cotton fields in the summer. Black people tried to remake them but had different ingredients and boom the Hot Tamale was born!
