I was proud to see
@omarfatehmn.com
earn the DFL endorsement on July 19th, and I'll be even more proud to see him win the mayoral election on November 4th. The people of Minneapolis deserve better, join me on the doors.

I’m so excited about Soren’s campaign. His vision represents the values of Ward 8 and I’m proud to join my neighbors in hosting this house party. Join us! It will be fun!

This is my official endorsement (that Eric did not ask for) of Eric for BET. He is someone that truly believes that Minneapolis has the capacity to be great and that the way we choose to allocate our resources can be a representation of the best of ourselves.

This Juneteenth I would like to recommend that my fellow white folks watch this presentation to the Minneapolis city council on the progress under the MPD consent decree. It’s sobering and progress requires us to be engaged. Starts at 44min in:

I’m going to do the same, even though I live in a different ward. Minneapolis is better than these tactics and Aurin is nothing but class.

not the main issue here but i'd really appreciate it if democratic politicians spoke out in support of big-city life and culture with the same energy and reverence that all politicians have for small towns los angeles is "real america" and so are all the other big cities the president hates

Hey friends of the MCBL: We need your help! Last week a locked garage that was overflow storage for the library was broken into, bikes taken, & $2,800 in damage done to the garage. We have insurance on all, but need help w/ deductibles to get rolling.

80% of Minnesotans agree: We don’t have enough homes & the
#MNleg
should fix it. But city interest groups are using taxpayer $ to prevent that, which means higher rents & fewer opportunities. We demand a future where we can choose where to live. Where every city has thriving neighborhoods.

MN cities lobby against restrictions aimed at lowering cost of homes
A bipartisan group of lawmakers are pushing several housing bills, but cities are lobbying to be left alone.

Housing is a complicated problem with lots of causes and solutions - I’m so excited to see this package of bills that tackle different parts of it. Taken as a whole these bills will make a huge difference in the lives of Minnesotans.

Would love to take this in the opposite direction as Taylr - apparently we can have fire lanes and pedestrianized spaces. Let’s see that in action on the Mall, on 1st, 10th over the greenway, etc.

Replacing I-94 with an appropriately sized urban street seems like a crazy impossible dream until you think about all the people we'll be poisoning for the next 60 years. For something everyone insists was a regrettable atrocity we really wish we could go back in time and not inflict on people.

I'm so upset. My bike was stolen out of my apartment building. It is a black Trek FX 3 Stagger, rim brakes, size small, 2018 or 2019, and will be missing its front wheel. Twin Cities friends, please keep an eye out! Message me for more details.

Feeling adrift today? We see you. Everyone can live by example. It doesn't mean you need to be perfect, just intentional. In a world tilted towards dystopia, sometimes just riding a bike is a radical act of resistance.

This is such an important safety improvement we need in MN, and especially in Minneapolis with their deep love of two way bikeways on one side of a road. Knowing I can cross safely and not have to hope that a driver turning will notice that I am there and going straight will be a game changer.

Gah, still sad about my bike getting stolen, need to put some effort into finding it or getting the word out tomorrow. Was bogged down with family stuff today. Just kind of led me to despair a bit. Here’s a picture, if it helps.

The Guidelines for Safer Pedestrian Crossings project collected data from more than 3,300 crossing events at 18 intersections in Minnesota. The results? Cars traveling faster than 25mph essentially never yield to pedestrians.
