I have a friend who said, of Starfleet Academy, that this took them out of it - that seeing a person in a wheelchair in the 32nd century seemed unrealistic, since medicine in Star Trek "should be able to cure whatever was wrong with them." That's not the case, for any number of possible reasons.

Lost in all of this is the original intention of this project: A regular/monthly Sword & Sorcery Newsletter with reviews and essays and reporting on cool stuff about that weirdest of fantasy genres. It's all shilling atm, but I swear it'll get there: newsletter.swordsagainst.com

I do think the two Black God tales are Moore's most original & strongest. 'Shadow' is imperfectly executed but plunges deeper where 'Kiss' dared to tread. I've gone a journey with these the last 3 years, over several readings, got past my hangups or preconceptions, now, admire them without reserve.
