A 2200 series CTA L Car manufactured by the Budd company in Philadelphia sitting in Fern Rock yard in Philadelphia awaiting delivery in 1969. My favorite part about this photo is the ancient and disintegrating BSL rolling stock visible, a stark juxtaposed to the brand new stainless steel L car.

It's the CTA's 6000 series set from 1950! Running on charter for IRM's Fall Colors Express from all the way up north at Dempster-Skokie to the southwest side at Midway then return!
