CCW 300 is a McGuire-Cummings 35 ton steeplecab ordered by the Charles City Western in 1915. The Iowa Terminal abandoned their operations on the former CCW in 1965, but luckily all the equipment from that line was saved! 300 served in mason city (as itr 30) before preservation at irm.

Racing alongside Richardson's Bay, a three-car Northwestern Pacific commuter train hurdles towards Almonte — ca. 1940? These wooden cars used to be coaches pulled by steam engines! In the 1920s, they were electrified and pressed into commuter service, a role they filled until abandonment in 1941.

184 is one of 4 60ton steeplecabs ordered by the Waterloo Cedar Falls and Northern in 1914. 180 was sold to the Iowa Transfer Railway in 1920, 182-183 were destroyed in the 1954 roundhouse fire, 181 and 184 survived until the Waterloo railroad acquired their own locomotives and de-electrified.
