Late to the party by one or four years, I know, but I finished Richard E Grant's memoir, "A Pocketful of Happiness" this weekend and it blew me away. It's startlingly honest and a portrait of such love and devotion. A rollercoaster of emotions and totally engaging. Would wholeheartedly reccomend.

Delighted to confirm that having finished Series 2, The Artful Dodger remains one of the best things to come out of streaming and is such a well crafted bit of entertainment. I will subsequently be thinking about nothing else for the next three weeks and will be actively campaigning for its renewal.

I've been listening to Audible's new version of Christie's ABC Murders (having listened to "Styles" last summer) and yet again find myself entirely entranced. Peter Dinklage is very very well cast as Poirot and I'd be delighted if these audios kept coming for many years to come.

If something like this was introduced in England it'd be revolutionary and revelationary, especially for those of us attempting to start a creative career. Not holding my breath though.

Recently acquired some new wired earphones after mine died in October and with renewed clarity and quality of sound, I yet again find myself listening to Mark Knopfler's score for "Local Hero"... God, I love it. What a masterpiece.

Did a bit of writing today! Writing an audioplay, inspired by how brilliant the BBC radio 4 output has been lately. The Truth About Phyllis Twigg + The Goblin King and Me were simply spectacular. Incredibly inspiring.

I'll admit, this transition is very frustrating for some of us looking for work. As somebody passionate about audio, I find myself unable to apply for any editing jobs on podcasts as most also require video editing skills, which I (and I'd guess a good portion of other audio people) somewhat lack.

Update #2: Finished @theholmwoodfnd.bsky.social S1. What an incredible series! Fio Trethewey and Georgia Cook have created an amazing sequel to Stoker's novel, and it's so worth your time. Brilliantly written and cleverly framed, phenomenally performed and wonderfully edited by Benji Clifford.

Okay... so I've been thinking about a faithful screen adaptation of Dracula since finishing the book, and here's what I've come up with casting wise. I've tried to be as age accurate as possible (and have borrowed some of the cast from the audiobook I listened to).

Update #1: Finished Dracula. I expected it to be good but it was incredible, a genuine masterpiece. Stoker weaves a phenomenal yarn, and the actors chosen for this version were second to none. Watkins, Edgar-Jones, Patel and James were all brilliant. Now onto @theholmwoodfnd.bsky.social!

Finally got around to reading this, and barely put it down for a moment. It's a phenomenal bit of storytelling and so damn clever. @chrischibnall.bsky.social knows how to spin a cracking yarn, definitely one of my top books of the year. Can't wait to see what he writes next!

It's fab when an eight year old idea has finally sorted itself out, been through enough iterations and developed enough to be something interesting and is ready to go. I'm very excited to share it with you (hopefully in the not too distant future).

It was an absolute joy to graduate from Aberystwyth University with a 2:1 degree in Film and Television on Thursday. It was lovely to see friends, colleagues and lectures again (hopefully this will not be the last time). (1/2)
