Happy 85th anniversary to Walt Disney's masterpiece "Fantasia". I ran a special showing this morning at the theatre-of course I ran it in the big auditorium with the Dolby Atmos sound!! It was truly magnificent. It's been 30 years since I saw it last in the theatre-it looked fantastic! 🎥🍿🎶

It's Disney Anthology recap time! 70 years ago tonight Walt took us back to Sherwood Forest to conclude "The Story Of Robin Hood". After a long 7 minute recap of what happened last week (lots of fluff!!) we finally find out how Robin defeats the evil Prince John and the Sheriff of Nottingham.

STEAMBOAT WILLIE is fun, but in the earliest of Mickey Mouse shorts, PLANE CRAZY is my favorite. Mickey’s attempts to kiss Minnie with his puckering lips is hysterical. Also love their outlandishly big, expressive eyes. A close second: THE GALLOPIN’ GAUCHO.

Great story from the making of THE ROCKETEER (1991). After saving a victim, The Rocketeer was to land in wet cement in front of the Chinese Theater (to be shot at Disney-MGM Studios) & take off again leaving blast marks. The scene got cut but the blast marks & the opening date of the movie made it.

Now is as good a time as any to remind you that THE ROCKETEER (1991) was the best comic book movie franchise we never got. Soaring pulp adventure over an Old Hollywood backdrop, a top tier James Horner score. Oh and there's even Jon Polito!
