Do I read too fast? I only use the NYT Games app that my job provides full access for. And the website for Spelling Bee hints. The two tables for length and two starting letters really help focus my limited time. Just earned a good chunk of time back in my day, I guess.

By no means an original idea, but here's my attempt at a quadratics completion table. When doing this in lesson, I gave out fully blank grids, and did one row at a time together as a class, giving a different starting box each time. It worked pretty well. interwovenmaths.com/quadraticsta...

I've done activities with stats classes looking at the distribution of what students guess for the % size of various groups in the US vs the actual numbers; their estimates are like those in the chart. (& then also talk about how those official population estimates are done.) #MathSky #ITeachMath

In #MathsToday we introduced abs value equations. We started with |§|=5 where § was a large ink spill, and I asked what could have been on the page. Next was 3|§|+2=14. Then |§|=-3. Once we had a good conceptual understanding, we moved into solving regular abs. value equations. I think it went well.
